Local Business Woman Inspires Graduates to Overcome Obstacles
HOUSTON, June 20, 2009-American InterContinental University Houston (AIU) presented diplomas to 158 proud graduates on June 6 at the First Methodist Church. Cheryl Creuzot, a successful leader in the Houston financial community, delivered the commencement speech and advised graduates to strive to be successful no matter what obstacles they face.
Creuzot, the CEO of Wealth Development Strategies LLP, shared her own struggle to overcome race discrimination when she first started in the financial industry. She is now the CEO of the company that discriminated against her when she was 24 years old.
“Cheryl, like many of our students, has worked hard to overcome many obstacles to be where she is today. Our students often juggle jobs, families and other commitments along with school and I’m proud of these students for achieving the educational goals that will help them succeed in the future,” said Steve Malutich, AIU Houston campus president.
At the ceremony a range of associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees were presented to the graduates. The graduation participants were comprised of 73 AIU Houston students and 85 AIU Online students.
AIU Houston offers degrees in the areas of business administration, criminal justice and design. AIU offers flexible options such as online classes and night classes to ensure education can fit into every student’s life. The faculty and staff of AIU Houston are dedicated to providing its students with the skills they will need to succeed in the real world.
