Former U.S. Housing Secretary and NFL MVP addresses online faculty in first-ever, web-based faculty summit

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – November 7, 2003 –American InterContinental University Online (AIU Online), one of the fastest growing universities in North America and subsidiary of Career Education Corporation, today announced that the Honorable Jack Kemp is serving as the keynote speaker at today’s AIU Online virtual faculty summit.

Kemp is co-director of Empower America, a public advocacy organization he co-founded in 1993 devoted to ensuring that government actions foster growth, economic well-being, freedom and individual responsibility. He is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives and served four years as secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the administration of President George H. Bush. Prior to his political appointments, he was a professional NFL quarterback and MVP.

This unique event will provide faculty members opportunity to interact with colleagues in real time. In an ongoing effort to continually develop faculty during a period of unprecedented growth, the program will begin with a virtual tour of the university and all of its services.

The keynote address is followed by a plenary session with the theme Building Learning Partnerships. During the synchronous breakout sessions, faculty present and respond to the theories discussed in the plenary session. The second day of activities concludes with a live, online Q&A panel where faculty questions will be addressed by senior managers and administrators.
