Letter from Stephen Tober: AIU Virtual Campus Wins Prestigious Technology Award
We are proud to announce that the AIU Virtual Campus, our innovative, student-focused online learning community, was recognized this week as “best of the best” in the Computerworld Honors Program, which acknowledges companies and individuals each year for outstanding new uses of technology that benefit society.
The Virtual Campus has made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of AIU students since it launched in 2001. The unique, interactive platform offers flexibility and brings the classroom experience to our career-oriented students when it is convenient to fit into their lives, at any time or any place, as many are working, raising families and going to school at the same time.
The Virtual Campus platform delivers an online learning community where students can access a full range of services. Much like a traditional campus, the Virtual Campus enables a rich, engaging social and educational atmosphere where students can enjoy the accessibility, flexibility and convenience of distance learning. The Virtual Campus is just one example of how AIU continually advances the technology of its learning environment to better serve its students.
We are honored to be recognized by this worthwhile award that for the past 21 years has identified the most innovative organizations and people who use technology to promote positive social, economic and educational change.
