Proceeds from Nouveaux Fashion Show Benefit Locally-Based Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation
WESTON, Fla., May 26, 2009–American InterContinental University (AIU) South Florida recently held the Nouveaux Fashion Show ’09, showcasing the latest spring fashions designed by AIU South Florida students. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the show were given to the Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation, founded by AIU business administration alumna, Jacquelyn Gray.
AIU fashion marketing and design students and alumni unveiled their collections with the Nouveaux theme permeating the show, which showcased modern and fresh spring looks. Highlights included a "Fashion Patrol" scene dedicated to the AIU criminal justice department, and a special Alumni Collection, featuring the work of AIU alumni including Evrice Cornelius, Harper Walker of Nordstrom and Kathy Maraj of the Rashawn Rose Boutique.
"AIU is dedicated to women, helping them grow personally and professionally, and empowering them," said Dr. Hisham Shaban, campus president, AIU South Florida. "We are proud of our senior fashion students and alumni and are pleased to partner with Woman2Woman to contribute to such an important cause while our students show their designs."
Jacquelyn Gray graduated from AIU in 2005 with a degree in business administration and began Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation leveraging the business skills she obtained at AIU after her personal struggle with breast cancer.
"I am really impressed by the support I’ve received from AIU since graduation," said Jacquelyn Gray, Woman2Woman founder and CEO. "The school’s dedication has ultimately helped me start my own business and pursue my passion of educating women about the importance of breast health issues."
Woman2Woman offers low-cost or free mammograms and helps educate women on the importance of having mammograms and anything else pertaining to breast health issues.
