WESTON, Fla. – Dr. Henry C. Lee, one of the world’s foremost forensic scientists, will speak at American InterContinental University (AIU) on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 6 p.m. in room 219, at AIU South Florida located at 2250 N. Commerce Parkway in Weston. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Lee’s landmark work in criminal investigation has made him a prominent participant in more than 8,000 cases over the past 45 years, consulting for more than 800 law enforcement agencies. His testimony figured prominently in the O. J. Simpson trial, and in the conviction of the “Woodchipper” murderer. Dr. Lee has assisted local and state police in other high profile criminal investigations, including the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey; the 1993 suicide of White House Counsel Vincent Foster; the murder of Chandra Levy; the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart; the Laci Peterson murder case, and the reinvestigation of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

AIU offers a comprehensive approach to the criminology field, with the goal of preparing students to become qualified criminal-justice professionals. AIU’s Forensic Science Concentration is designed to prepare students for all elements of field work, from processing a crime scene to working in a criminology lab.
Along with forensic science, other concentrations offered include general criminal justice, law/courts, law enforcement and corrections.

About Dr. Henry C. Lee
Dr. Lee was born in China and grew up in Taiwan. His career began with the Taipei Police Department where he attained the rank of Captain. With his wife, Margaret, Dr. Lee relocated to the United States in 1965, and he earned a B.S. in Forensic Science from John Jay College in 1972. Dr. Lee continued his studies in biochemistry at NYU where he earned his Masters Degree in 1974 and Ph.D. in 1975. He has also received special training from the FBI Academy, ATF, RCMP, and other organizations. He is a recipient of eleven honorary Doctorate Degrees from Universities in recognition of his contributions to Law and Science. As a professor who has taught at more than a dozen universities, Dr. Lee joined the University of New Haven in 1975, where he created the school’s Forensic Sciences program. He is the author hundreds of articles in professional journals and has co-authored more than 30 books, covering the areas, such as; DNA, Fingerprints, Trace Evidence, Crime Scene Investigation and Crime scene reconstruction. Most recently he has published books include: Famous Crimes Revisited, Cracking Cases; Blood Evidence, Trace Evidence; and Dr. Henry Lee Case Files. As time permits, he lectures to police departments and academies, universities and civic organizations. Dr. Lee is the recipient of numerous medals and awards, including the 1996 Medal of Justice from the Justice Foundation and the 1998 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Science and Engineer Association. He also received the Distinguished Criminalist Award from the American Academy of Forensic Sciences; the J. Donero Award from the International Association of Identification; and in 1992 was elected a distinguished Fellow of the AAFS.
