American InterContinental University Appoints Stephen Tober CEO
Hoffman Estates, Ill.‐‐(June 22, 2009) – The governing board of American InterContinental University (AIU) has appointed Stephen J. Tober Chief Executive Officer of the AIU University system and President of AIU Online. The AIU system serves more than 22,000 students worldwide and includes four U.S. ground campuses, an international campus in London and a fully online university. AIU is a member of the Career Education Corporation (NASDAQ:CECO) network of colleges, universities and schools.
Tober, 44, joined AIU as Chief Operating Officer in October 2008 and has served as Interim CEO of AIU and President of AIU Online since April 2009. He has nearly 20 years of experience in operations and management in a variety of industries including education, information technology services, investment banking and management consulting, most recently holding a senior position with ThinkEquity Partners in Chicago. Tober has also held senior roles in publicly traded companies including SPR, Leapnet and Smith Barney. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Virginia.
