Understanding Graduate Admissions

Applying to graduate school can be intimidating for some people. At American InterContinental University, we strive to take as much stress out of the process as possible for our prospective grad students.

As you prepare to apply for admission to an AIU Master's degree program, you will most certainly have questions about the process, our school, classes or programs. A few of the most common questions posed by prospective graduate students appear below. If the question you have is not answered hear, an AIU Admissions Advisor will be happy to provide the information you need.

Does AIU support transfer of credit from other colleges or universities?

In applicable academic programs and pending academic review, transfer credit may be accepted by AIU from any United States institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. In addition, AIU will review requests for transfer credit from international higher education institutions. Academic graduate credit from other institutions may be accepted, but cannot exceed 12 credits.  Acceptance of transfer credit is at the sole discretion of AIU.

See the Transfer Student Admissions sections of this website for further information related to transfer of credit, and for information related to the assessment of prior learning for degree completion programs.
