Associate of Science in Criminal Justice (ASCJ)
The Associate of Science in Criminal Justice degree program is designed for students who have identified an interest in the criminal justice field. Courses are structured to assist students in the development of their goals as they can acquire the knowledge and skills that can be helpful in the field.
Students in this program can be exposed to the foundational areas of the criminal justice system: law enforcement, the courts, corrections and the juvenile justice system.

Today's criminal justice students must learn knowledge and skills in many components of the system, so they can understand the need for protection and services. Students in this program can be exposed to the foundational areas of the discipline: investigation and law enforcement, law and courts, and corrections and parole. The program also addresses juvenile delinquency and the juvenile justice system.
The AIU AS in Criminal Justice degree program provides a working knowledge of the fundamentals of the criminal justice field. In this industry-focused curriculum, students can learn how to:
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge of law enforcement, the courts, corrections and the juvenile justice system.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of crime causation theories.
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities that are crucial in the criminal justice field.

In addition to the general education requirements, the AS in Criminal Justice includes the following courses that are taught by instructors, many of whom have relevant career experience in the field of criminal justice system, including law enforcement, the courts, corrections and the juvenile justice system. The experiences and firsthand perspectives they can share in class can help prepare you for real-life challenges after you graduate.
