Military Grants

Active duty students, veterans and military spouses may be eligible to qualify for grants.* Your military branch or the Veteran’s Administration (depending on the type of military benefits being sought) will be the ultimate decision maker in determining and approving the benefits for which you may qualify. Listed below are some of the grants offered to eligible AIU military students. For more information and full eligibility requires, please see the AIU catalog.

The AIU Freedom Grant

AIU has established a grant for all active duty and drilling members of the U.S. military and their immediate family members attending an AIU ground campus.

The AIU Online Veterans Grant

AIU Online has established a grant for all honorably discharged Veterans of the U.S. military to assist in providing the opportunity to attend a degree program of study at AIU Online.

The AIU Online Military Spouse Grant

AIU Online has established a grant for all spouses of active duty and drilling members of the U.S. military to assist in providing the opportunity to attend a degree program of study at AIU Online.

The AIU Online Yellow Ribbon Grant

In accordance with the Yellow Ribbon Program, a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008, the University has established a Yellow Ribbon Grant.

VA Education Benefits

Students that are eligible to use their VA education benefits can use these benefits while in attendance with AIU. If you are interested in finding out more about your benefit options or want to begin the application process, please visit the VA’s education website at www.gibill.va.gov.

Federal Student Aid

The U.S. Department of Education, through Title IV of the Higher Education Act, provides eligible students with resources to fund their education. AIU participates in a variety of financial aid programs that assist with educational expenses including tuition, books and housing.
