American InterContinental University’s (AIU)  fashion and film students present the Black Pearl Fashion & Film Gala, taking place at the AIU South Florida campus in Weston from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11.  Students from both the fashion and film departments will showcase a series of short films that give a behind-the-scenes look at the processes of fashion design and filmmaking, including how they influence each other. The evening will conclude with a fashion show featuring the fashion design students’ finished products.

The Black Pearl Fashion and Film Gala is an exciting opportunity for students to collaborate and reflect on how fashion and film inspire each other. The show not only provides students with a great opportunity to develop and showcase their design and production skills, but also will allow them to take part in the premiere of this unique fashion and film event. Attendees have an opportunity to meet and greet the cast and crew under the stars as they showcase the world premiere of “Black Pearl.”

“This show is an amazing opportunity to show the strength of emerging talent from both AIU’s fashion and film programs,” said Sharon Ali, Fashion Design and Marketing Program Chair at AIU South Florida. “It is also so interesting to watch artists evolve through their own design process…and we get to watch it all unfold on the silver screen. It’s classic movie magic!”

This show is free and open to the public.
