Lisa Haas, AIU Online Director of Student AdvisinAIU Online is proud to announce that Director of Student Advising Lisa Haas is the recipient of the Emerging Leaders designation with National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), the Global Community for Academic Advising.

This is an exceptional honor as only ten people internationally were selected for the 2012-2014 Class of Emerging Leaders for NACADA. The purpose of the two-year program is to provide an intentional and focused mentoring experience to members who are interested in becoming more involved in the association.

Executive Director of NACADA Charlie L. Nutt said in his letter to University leadership, "We are extremely proud of Lisa and know that NACADA, American InterContinental University Online, and Lisa will benefit from her involvement in this program. I know that you too are proud that she has been selected and pleased with the international focus your institution will garner due to her involvement."

Throughout this program, Lisa will work with a mentor from the association to gain skills, experiences, and knowledge needed to move into a leadership position in the association.

Leon Kelley, Vice President of Student Affairs at AIU, said, "Lisa has worked diligently to advance her knowledge and skills in the area of student retention in her role of Director of Student Advising. Her engagement with NACADA will bring forth and encourage the sharing of best practices to improve the AIU student experience."

Lisa has been with the University for the last six and a half years in a variety of positions. She holds a M.A. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in Schaumburg, and a B.A. in English from St. Norbert College in Wisconsin. She is now a doctoral candidate at Benedictine University, working on an Ed.D. in Higher Education and Organizational Change.
