AIU Atlanta President Hisham ShabanA faculty appreciation luncheon was held on Tuesday, December 18th, at the AIU Atlanta Campus. To kick off the luncheon, newly instated AIU Atlanta President Dr. Hisham Shaban introduced himself to the attendees and spoke of the vital role that is played by faculty.

Dr. Shaban said that it is up to the campus to create a strong shared connection with students, particularly through their interactions with instructors. Dr. Shaban shared with faculty several positive student remarks from the recent NPS Student Survey, which supported how much students appreciate their instructors’ commitment, academic knowledge, and guidance during their educational journeys.

The luncheon was attended by both adjunct and full-time faculty, academic leadership, and representatives from every campus department. Several members of the AIU Learning Community recognized specific faculty and academic members for going above and beyond to assist students—both in and out of the classroom. Faculty were thanked for resolving student issues quickly and helping students overcome obstacles and challenges while pursuing their educational goals.

Dr. Shaban discussed the importance of all departments getting to know each other to increase awareness and foster a team spirit. He stressed that we are all one University, and we need to encourage teamwork in every aspect of our daily operations.

Thank you to each faculty member for contributing to students’ successes!
