Delta Mu Delta Honor Society Takes Off At AIU Houston

The installation of Mu Epsilon Co-Chapter of Delta Mu Delta (DMD) Honor Society and the induction of its first set of members were held at the campus of American InterContinental University, Houston, on Friday June 1, 2012. The ceremony was conducted by the Executive Director of DMD, Dr. Michael LaRocco, who flew in to attend the event from the headquarters of the organization in Chicago, Illinois. In all, four honorary members and eleven student members were inducted into the prestigious body.

AIU Houston Delta Mu Delta CeremonyWhile presiding over the installation of the co-chapter and the induction of the honorary members, Dr. LaRocco gave background information on the international honor society in business which was founded way back in 1913 by the efforts of five professors from New York University, Yale University, and Harvard University. He emphasized that the society was founded to promote higher scholarship in education for business, and to recognize and reward scholastic attainment in business subjects. AIU Houston Campus President Steve Malutich, himself an honorary member of the society, presided over the induction of the student members.

In attendance to grace the occasion were the Campus Director of Education, Dr. Stanley Scott, the Program Chair of Business, Dr. Kola Sonaike, the Campus Director of Admissions, Mr. Craig Rivers, Director of Financial Aid, Ms. Tianisha Adams, Director of Student Management/Ombudsman, Ms. Jamie Mike, and a number of staff and faculty on the campus.

Congratulations to all of the inductees and thank you for honoring AIU Houston with your sincere dedication to the School of Business.
