What is an Online Education?

September 10, 2010 AIU Online 0 Comments

American InterContinental University (AIU) Online is dedicated to providing students with a successful online education. Online education has become increasingly popular at colleges and universities in the past few years because of the improved access that it provides students. You are invited to explore AIU Online for its offerings on the benefits of this exciting medium of learning.

Online education refers to courses where at least 80 percent of content is distributed online. There is often no face-to-face contact involved with these degree programs. Students send assignments online and often participate in chat discussions or message boards that pertain to the course subject. Teachers are able to provide students with information that is easy and quick to access over almost any computer.

Online education is a way to increase students' knowledge in a particular area of study by giving them access to a wide variety of material on the subject. While no face-to-face interaction is found in online degree programs, students are still able to communicate with each other through their computers.
