American InterContinental University (AIU) South Florida is partnering with several community organizations to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month with the Celebrating Our Culture and Educating Our Community workshop series Oct. 18-21. Four different workshops, which are complimentary and open to the public, will address topics from health concerns facing the Hispanic community to pursuing career opportunities at Hispanic media outlets.
The workshop series is possible thanks to support from Salud Al Dia, Global Business Center, Puerto Rican Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Mujeres Latinas, Hispanic Unity and the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Monday, Oct. 18: Marketing to the Hispanic Community
A local advertising agency will present a historical analysis of the Hispanic market and share successful case studies of top consumer brands working with this audience.
Tuesday, Oct. 19: Hispanic Media: Behind-the-Scenes
Experts from Clear Channel and TV Azteca America will showcase what goes on behind the scenes at these broadcast outlets and discuss career opportunities in Hispanic media.
Wednesday, Oct. 20: Health Tips for Hispanics
A panel of health care experts from pediatrics, urology, cardiology and homeopathy will provide health tips and answer questions about medical concerns affecting the Hispanic community.
Thursday, Oct. 21: Technology Trends in Graphic Design
Learn about one of the most important programs in design publishing. This course provides a brief overview on the built-in creative tools InDesign 4 carries for those interested in graphic design.
Each workshop is scheduled from 6pm to 7:30pm Eastern Time
