Dr. Wendy Johnson,
Vice President Academics

Dr. Wendy Johnson joined AIU in 2013. She has earned a Ph.D. in Administration/Management from Walden University, a MBA from LeTourneau University and a BA in Accounting/Economics from Lakeland College.

During her career she served as an internal auditor at a brokerage firm in Wisconsin, worked in an accounting capacity at a pharmaceutical sales company and a large retail chain in Houston, TX. She started her academic career at the University of Phoenix - Houston, TX as an adjunct professor and the Director of Academic Affairs. She also served as the Regional Director of Academic Affairs at Kaplan Higher Education and was the Campus Academic Dean at Alta Colleges. Dr. Johnson has facilitated online and on ground business courses at various academic institutions.

She has also started and served on various non-profit boards and is one of the Past Presidents of the National Black MBA Association and a graduate of Leadership Houston. Wendy has received numerous community awards: Houston’s 25 Most Influential Women, YMCA Minority Achiever of the Year, the Cardinal Health Professional Image Award, NBMBAA Education Leadership Award among many others. She has authored a book and continues to write various educational and motivational articles. Dr. Johnson is active in the community and prides herself on giving back, making a difference and changing lives.
