HOUSTON – January 27, 2009 – American InterContinental University Houston (AIU) will host a post-Hurricane Ike Grand Reopening and Launch of its new Criminal Justice program on February 19 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the AIU campus, 9999 Richmond Avenue in Houston. The honorable Adrian Garcia, Sheriff of Harris County, will be the featured keynote speaker. Houston’s first Hispanic Sheriff, Garcia is a veteran police officer and has served as director of the Mayor’s Anti-Gang Office and as a City Councilman overseeing public safety and homeland security.
“We are extremely honored to have Sheriff Garcia as our guest to introduce AIU’s new Criminal Justice program,” said AIU Houston President Stephen Malutich. “Our degree program features industry-relevant courses taught by faculty members who have had career experience in this key field and our goal is to prepare students to become qualified criminal justice professionals.”
