New facilities and remodeled campus for AIU Atlanta students
ATLANTA – June 8, 2009– American InterContinental University (AIU) is pleased to announce the introduction of the largest AIU ground campus. Today, the AIU Buckhead and Dunwoody campuses will join to become one campus, AIU Atlanta.
AIU Atlanta is located on the current site of the AIU Dunwoody campus, just 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta in the heart of the Perimeter business community. The campus underwent a significant redesign to enhance the school’s modern facilities and provide the AIU Atlanta-based student body with an improved educational experience.
“The remodeled campus will help to better serve our students’ needs,” said Peter Correa, president of AIU Atlanta. “I am thrilled at the prospect of increased collegiality that will surely come when all AIU Atlanta students are attending school in one location.”
The upgraded, 75,000-square-foot facility features open, airy work spaces and windows overlooking the lush, green campus. AIU Atlanta students will have access to an industry-current forensics lab; a virtual firearms training simulator (FATS) lab; drawing studio; dedicated math, science and writing labs; as well as newly-redesigned studios for fashion design, media production, visual communication and interior design. All degree programs currently offered at the Buckhead and/or Dunwoody campuses will be available to students at AIU Atlanta.
Students will also benefit from a new student center designed by the Atlanta and Chicago offices of IA Interior Architects, who aided in the overall school remodel. The lofty interior provides a place to network as well as a place to study, relax or enjoy a meal at the café. A wireless network and printer stations are available throughout the building to further aid students in their studies.
In addition to the facility improvements, AIU Atlanta will also offer free parking on campus as well as a free shuttle service between AIU Atlanta and two nearby MARTA stations, making getting to and from the AIU Atlanta campus more convenient than ever. During peak lunchtime hours, complimentary transportation to Perimeter Mall will also be provided to students, staff and faculty.
AIU Atlanta offers industry-current degree programs and classes taught by faculty members with real world experience. The programs include associate, bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration; bachelor of fine arts in interior design, fashion design, fashion marketing, media production and visual communication with concentrations in digital design and animation; a master's degree in information technology that offers multiple concentrations in IT career fields; and an associate and bachelor of science in criminal justice.
