Dr. James Hite currently serves as Program Chair for General Education at the main campus of American InterContinental University (AIU). Prior to holding this appointment, he developed and chaired the Master’s in Education program at AIU. He has served on a number of university committees including, most recently, the Education Curriculum Committee, the General Education Curriculum Committee and the TEAC Accreditation Steering Committee. Before joining AIU, Dr. Hite was the Director of Distance Education at Belmont University. He also has extensive experience in human resource development as Senior Manager of Employee and Organizational Development with Nortel Networks, as manager of professional development with the Exploration and Production Group of Phillips Petroleum Company and in several consulting roles. Dr. Hite is author of Learning in Chaos (Gulf Publishing), and editor of In Action: Implementing HRD Technology (American Society for Training & Development). He has also contributed chapters to other books and has presented on topics in the areas of distance education and human resource development.
