In order to help you get ahead in your education and make your college experience as efficient as possible, AIU accepts Advanced Placement (AP) credits offered through eligible high school or pre-college AP programs.
To obtain college-level credit from AP programs that can be applied to an AIU degree the following steps must take place.
- Students must earn a score of 3 or higher on the standardized AP examination related to their AP course.
- Students must submit a copy of an official AP examination score report to be evaluated for this proficiency credit award.
- AP examination scores are evaluated by the student's Prior Learning Assessment Evaluators.
- College-level credits are awarded based on recommendations from the American Council on Education (ACE).
