Being in the military can sometimes translate to constant transition. And while there is a certain level of pressure to continue your education, figuring out how to make education work for you may, at times, seems difficult.
While an online education is available through an internet connection, and the GI Bill can help bring the cost of your online degree within reach, the demands of serving in the military can still make earning your degree a nearly impossible mission.
Luckily for military personnel, AIU understands the obstacles that sometimes accompany members of the military. AIU works to improve programs for current and prospective students who are in the military to ensure that earning an education isn’t a hassle.
- 24/7 Access to Courses and Course Material: AIU students have 24/7 access to their classes. A military schedule can sometimes mean your free time comes at various times of the day, but at AIU that’s OK. 24/7 access to classes allow students with varied schedules to access the class at any time of the day, or the night.
- Deployment Options: As a member of the military, deployment cannot always be predicted. Some of our students find that they are able to continue their studies while deployed. Other students find that they are unable, at least temporarily, to continue with their studies. AIU works to provide support to military personnel during a deployment or an assignment transition.
- Credit for Military Training & Experience: Your experience in the military provides you with knowledge learned outside of the college classroom, and the training you receive can sometimes overlap with what you might be taught in your online classes. AIU values your military training and experience and we can evaluate the possibility of substituting course credits with your military experience.
- Education for Your Spouse: Frequent moves can sometimes be discouraging to a spouse because the moves may make his or her education difficult to attain. AIU believes in family, and therefore has created a grant for military spouses, to ease the pressure and offer them an option for further education as well.
Going to school while you are in the military doesn’t have to be difficult. AIU makes your degree attainable no matter the circumstance. Visit the Military Students page on our website to see how AIU has effectively served individuals who serve our country.
