On March 5th, AIU Atlanta welcomed prospective students to tour the campus, meet faculty, staff, and administration, and discover all AIU Atlanta has to offer. Atlanta radio station WVEE hosted the event on campus, giving listeners updates on the Open House as well.
A special ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the launch of the new AIU Atlanta Center of Excellence and English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
Invited guests who participated in the ribbon cutting to launch the new AIU Atlanta Center of Excellence and ESL Program were: (L-R) Dr. Katrina Mallory, director, Center of Excellence, Klaus Kleber, representing the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Janis Ware, publisher, The Atlanta Voice newspaper, Mayor of Sandy Springs, Eva Galambos , George Bergmark, vice chairman, Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce, and Santiago Marquez, vice president & COO, Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. AIU Atlanta President, Peter C. Correa welcomed guests and visitors, and then assisted with the ribbon cutting.
During the March 5 Open House, (L to R) Jose Ventura, fashion designer and president of the fashion association at AIU Atlanta, Christian Harris, fashion designer and AIU Atlanta alum, and Natarsha Shearin, fashion designer and AIU Atlanta graduate, shared their visions and accomplishments during a panel discussion sponsored by the AIU Atlanta Fashion Department.
(L to R) Stacey Harris, COO of Atlanta’s Fashion Incubator, and Teague Stradford-Stovall, fashion instructor at AIU Atlanta, were panelists during the Open House special fashion event. Ms. Harris spoke on the role of how the Fashion Incubator assists small design businesses in sourcing capital for a start-up, and Mrs. Stradford-Stovall gave a presentation on the History of African American fashion during the 20th century.
