AIU Houston Hosts Successful Faculty Art Show

Guest article by Nicole Bent Jones, AIU Houston Visual Communication Program Chair

The AIU Faculty Art Show: Artistic Impulses was a successful event for the AIU Houston campus. The Spring show highlighted graphic design and fine art work by talented faculty members, Nicole Bent Jones, Robert Matta, Martha Culbreth, Yulia Kolonina, and Kristina Jantz. The faculty exhibition will be on display at the AIU Houston campus through June 12, 2012 in the AIU Gallery.

The exhibit's opening reception was well attended. Thank you to Dr. Stanley Scott, Director of Education, for his welcoming remarks. His support of the Visual Communication program is always appreciated and we thank him for inviting Ms. Tang and Ms. Rivers from Chinese television channel 51 in Houston. It was a pleasure speaking with them and introducing them to our talented faculty. We thank Joe Robbins and AJ Owen, our highly esteemed program advisory board members, for their participation in last night’s event. Alumni of the program, Giovanni Quinones, Liliana Gomez, and Brenda Lee, were in full support of the event as well.

Friends, family, industry professionals, educators, staff, faculty, and students were complimentary of the faculty work and it was a pleasure engaging with everyone in attendance. A Certificate of Excellence will be awarded to each exhibiting faculty member.
