Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT): Specialization in Network Administration
This Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree program features a specialization in Network Administration and is designed for students wishing to learn industry-current knowledge of network systems administration. Our Bachelor in network administration specialization covers network configurations, networking hardware, network operating systems, segmentation through sub-netting, and computer network management issues. The goal of the BIT program with a specialization in Network Administration is to help students demonstrate the ability to implement and deploy network topologies using the necessary network hardware and software systems.
The Network Administration specialization is intended for students seeking to gain experience in the major areas of network operations and administration, which may include user support and troubleshooting, infrastructure configuration and maintenance, and network operations management.
The AIU BIT with a specialization in Network Administration combines technical skills and knowledge with a focus on professional skills in areas including leadership, behavioral understanding, implementation of change and project management. In this curriculum, students can learn how to:
- Apply best practices in network operations and administration.
- Configure network components for operations.
- Program for database connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and remedy network problems.
- Design and implement a local area network.
- Describe, implement, and troubleshoot network-based communication services.
