Studio representatives from many of Georgia’s proposed and existing movie studios will gather on Oct. 17th for a roundtable discussion sponsored by the Media Communications Association International (MCA-I) and hosted at the Atlanta campus of American InterContinental University (AIU).
Participants will discuss their plans, the state of the industry, and how local media professionals, production crews, artists, technicians and students can get more involved in the film industry.
Confirmed participants include existing studios EUE/Screen Gems at Lakewood, Turner Studios, Mailing Avenue Stageworks and North Atlanta Studios along with studios under construction Pinewood Atlanta and Medient Studios in Savannah, proposed studios by Jacoby Development in Gwinnett and Triple Horse in Covington, and a representative from the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office.
Panelists will outline their current and future plans before opening the discussion to questions from the audience. The meeting will begin with networking at 6pm followed by the program at 6:30pm.
Don Sherrill, president of MCA-I Atlanta Chapter, said "We are inviting all interested local film and television associations to join our members for this discussion of this booming industry that has already created more than 30,000 jobs and attracted dozens of supplier companies to Georgia in recent years."
