The panel/committee interview, while it at first may seem intimidating, can easily be turned into an opportunity for you to demonstrate your communication skills and secure the position you seek.
- Although there will be several interviewers, be sure to make primary eye contact when answering a question with the interviewer who asked it. Make sure you don’t solely focus on them though; make eye contact with the other interviewers while you answer. Eye contact is an easy and important way to make a connection with an interviewer and build rapport.
- Approach the panel/committee interview as you would a group presentation. Speak clearly and slowly and present yourself with poise and a professional demeanor. Your ability to confidently handle the high-pressure situation of a panel/committee interview will reflect well on you as a candidate.
