  • This program give students the opportunity to acquire an understanding of the process of film production, with an emphasis on screenwriting, motion picture photography and lighting styles and directing. Students participating in this program can learn how to:

    • Develop a thorough technical understanding of the three phases of the motion picture production process (preproduction, production and postproduction).
    • Generate and properly utilize industry-standard paperwork to track and control all three phases of motion picture production.
    • Demonstrate technical competency with various industry-standard software, camera, grip and lighting, and recording technologies.
    • Understand on-set protocol/behavior and professionalism appropriate to field, studio and post-production applications.
    • Contribute appropriately in a variety of positions to the production of motion picture projects.
    • Create and collaborate on film/video projects from concept to finished product, on time and on budget, to a client's specifications.
    • Organize and manage self-directed film/video production projects.

  • Upon completing the Digital Film and Post Production specialization program, students will be prepared to embark as creative professionals in a variety of film and video markets.

    In addition to covering the broad knowledge elements of the field, from the principle stages of production and editing to the theories and principles at work during each, students will also participate in independent projects from concept through the creation of a professional-quality package. Working in groups and alone, students will be tasked with putting their knowledge and skills to work in a variety of industry roles.
