Project Management

AIU® offers an industry-relevant BBA program with an in-depth specialization in Project Management that is designed to provide students with a broad overview of the project design, structure, processes, tracking systems and methods for dealing with management/leadership issues in small and very large projects. Courses include a mix of core business fundamentals and the in-depth examination of project management that will be useful in real-world work environments. Students in this bachelor's in project management program will be introduced to the methods that project managers use to create solutions to unexpected problems that may arise during a project's life cycle. Courses are structured to allow students to develop the essential communication, leadership and teamwork skills necessary to a managerial role.   • In this specialized curriculum, students have an opportunity to learn the necessary knowledge and skills to complete projects on time and within specified budgets. Core competencies in technology, critical thinking, and communication are emphasized throughout the curriculum. The program culminates in a capstone experience from a project management perspective.

    This real-world specialization offers the opportunity for in-depth study, with more than half of your courses in your area of interest. It can help you develop a focused, industry-current knowledge base common to today's project management professionals. For example:

    • In Project Management, students can gain fundamental knowledge to enhance management outcomes, including HR management, communications management, scope management, quality management, scheduling/time management, cost and resource management, risk management, contract/procurement management and project integration.
    • In Project Cost and Time Management, students can develop effective measures for scheduling and controlling projects to ensure cost effectiveness, project time management and techniques for estimating, forecasting, budgeting, monitoring, controlling, analyzing and reporting costs and interpreting the meaning of earned value data.
    • In Building Teams and Resolving Conflict, students can explore the opportunities and challenges that arise from a diverse workforce and learn the methods of building cohesive teams and diffusing confrontation.

  • AIU's Bachelor of Business Administration degree program with a Specialization in Project Management is designed to help students develop a strong foundation in business fundamentals and using project management knowledge to facilitate scheduling, estimating, tracking and controlling the schedule and costs of the project.
