Fashion Marketing

AIU offers a professionally focused BFA in Fashion Marketing program with a specialization in Marketing that challenges students to become innovative, visionary marketers with an understanding of fashion marketing and communication skills. Students can develop the ability to work autonomously on a wide range of fashion marketing promotions as they can prepare for exciting opportunities in the fashion industry. The program is an industry-oriented fashion degree designed to instruct students on the rapidly changing world of marketing in the digital age. Students will learn basic marketing principles as well as participate in idea and campaign generation assignments and projects geared toward giving students a simulation of life as a fashion marketer.

    • In this specialized curriculum, students can study the fashion industry and how consumer needs and characteristics affect areas such as production, management, sourcing, marketing and merchandising. The objective is to learn what it takes to be a creative, design-focused, fashion marketing professional. Courses are structured to help students learn focused knowledge and skillsets common in the field of fashion marketing. The experiences and firsthand perspectives they may share in class can help prepare you for real-life challenges after you graduate. For example:

      • In Targeting Customers, students can study consumer buyer behavior, analyzing its relationship to how consumers purchase fashion products and brands.
      • In Fashion Branding, students can explore contemporary fashion brands and examine the strategies they use to create a unique personality, generate appeal and generally develop a “desirability factor” for potential consumers.
      • In Strategic Fashion Marketing, students can develop marketing strategies and tactics from initial concept to finished proposal by utilizing elements of management leadership, critical thinking, problem solving and creative.
