Tuition and Fees at AIU Houston

At American InterContinental University (AIU) Houston, we strive to make college tuition affordable and accessible for all students, whether you're taking classes at our Houston campus, online or a mix of both. As an AIU student, you have the opportunity to save money by receiving college credit for prior qualifying work, education or military experience*.

Costs per Credit Hour

While books and materials costs may vary by program, tuition per credit hour for full-time on-campus students is:

Full-time Associate Degree Programs

$317 per credit hour

Full-time Bachelor Degree Programs

$317 per credit hour

Full-time Master Degree Programs

$544 per credit hour

Part-time students taking less than 12 credits per quarter will be charged at an adjusted part-time per-credit-hour basis. Houston students enrolling in online Virtual Campus courses, will be charged an online course fee of $104 per course for undergraduate-level courses and $168 per course for graduate courses.

Tuition & Graduation Date Calculator

To help you plan for your education, we maintain a convenient AIU tuition and graduation calculator. In addition to determining how qualifying transfer courses or military experience may lower your overall degree costs*, you can also use the calculator to estimate a graduation date for completing your program.

Tuition for Online Programs

We also offer a number of online undergraduate and graduate degree programs. For students enrolled in an online associate's or bachelor's program, tuition costs are $345 per credit hour. Tuition for online MBA, MHCM and MSIT degrees is $652 per credit hour, and $472 per credit hour for the M.Ed. program.

While our online programs include course materials through the AIU online learning platform and as e-books, students wishing to use standard printed textbooks are responsible for any additional charges.

Financial Aid Opportunities

In our effort to make higher education affordable for all our students, we offer a range of tuition assistance and financial aid opportunities. Our Financial Aid Advisors can walk you through your FAFSA and federal financial aid options as well as help to identify any grants, scholarships, transfer credits or tuition reimbursement opportunities for which you may qualify.

While AIU Houston offers different need and merit-based grants and scholarship programs, your Advisor can also help point you toward any relevant offerings from the diverse range of scholarships and grants open to Texas residents.

Military Tuition Assistance

As part of our commitment to members of our armed services, AIU Houston offers military tuition assistance in the form of grants and scholarships, tuition reduction and transfer credits for qualifying military experience. Active military undergraduate students in one of our online programs can get up to 45% tuition reduction, with up to 20% tuition reduction available for active military graduate students in an online program (including the U.S. Army Reserves and National Guard).

Additionally, AIU Houston offers four grants specifically for veterans, active-duty service members and their families:

*Transfer credit is evaluated on an individual basis. Not all credits are eligible to transfer. See the University Catalog for transfer credit policies.

Financial aid is available for those who qualify. University grants or scholarships are based on established criteria as published in the University Catalog and are awarded after verification that the conditions of eligibility have been met.
