AIU Introduces MSIT Public Safety Concentration
American InterContinental University is excited to introduce a new Public Safety concentration within its Master of Science in Information Technology program, offering students a timely opportunity to explore how information technology connects with cybersecurity, public safety and responsible AI use.
The concentration connects IT-focused graduate study with subject areas such as cybercrime prevention, digital law enforcement, cyber-intelligence, threat analysis and surveillance ethics. As technology continues to shape how organizations protect information, investigate digital activity and evaluate emerging tools, these topics can help students examine public safety challenges through an information technology lens.
What Is the MSIT Public Safety Concentration?
The MSIT with a concentration in Public Safety is designed to help students study information technology concepts as they relate to public safety settings. The program emphasizes problem-based, hands-on learning and includes coursework that explores digital assets, cyber threats, technical communication, systems analysis and emerging technologies.
Public Safety, Cybersecurity and AI Ethics
The Public Safety concentration includes courses focused on cybercrime, digital law enforcement, cyber-intelligence and threat analysis. Students also have the opportunity to study AI and surveillance ethics in criminal justice, including topics such as artificial intelligence, facial recognition, predictive policing and surveillance systems.
These areas reflect a growing need to understand not only how technology is used, but also how legal, ethical and social considerations may shape responsible technology decisions.
