The MOS Pledge

At AIU, you can make the most of your military training and experience – and get a head start on your degree program.

What is the MOS Pledge?

The MOS Pledge program is one of the ways AIU honors the unique, in-depth training and skills of our military students.

With AIU’s MOS Pledge, students will have the opportunity to receive maximum transfer credit for previous qualifying military training and experience based on MOS Code. Receiving credit can help save both time and money pursuing an education.

How It Works

AIU’s Prior Learning Assessment Department will review your past college, military and qualifying professional experience to ensure you receive all applicable credit* , including credit from:

  • Joint Services Transcript (with MOS, AFSC, or NEC)
  • CLEP and DANTES exams
  • Prior college coursework
  • Certifications
  • Prior work experience

AIU bases its assessments on recommendations from the American Council on Education (ACE).

For Example

U.S. Army M1 Armor Crewmen (19K-004) will automatically receive at least 36 credits upon review toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree—20% of the total credits needed for that program. They could also be awarded additional credits for other training, certifications, and qualifying experience.
